Andrea Gail Fahey is the spark behind Spectrum Diversity Community Center. At only twenty-nine years old, she is the co-founder, Chair of the Board, and Executive Director of a nonprofit she helped build from the ground up. With a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Mount Union and experience as the chief of operations for the Akron Regional Chamber Orchestra she leads Spectrum’s family proudly. She came out as a transgender woman in 2016. To this day she helps her fellow community members in any way she can.
Andy Karas is Spectrum Diversity’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). By day, he works as an attorney at Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services where he practices environmental law, defending regular people's’ right to clean the air, water, and land. He is also an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), having served as the treasurer of the organization’s Akron chapter as well as being involved with the Legal and Eco-socialist Working Groups. In addition, he is a part of the National Lawyers Guild. Away from work, Andy enjoys the great outdoors, the great indoors, cooking, playing soccer, losing at chess, and using his guitars to torture his neighbors.
Nikki Sutcliffe has always stuck up for the under dog, and that extends to her work for Spectrum Diversity today. She’s been a clinic escort since 2016, was the co-chair of Akron DSA, and is a great ally to many marginalized groups such as LGBTQIA, African Americans, and the homeless. She received her Bachelor's in Science Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2002, and used to work as a science teacher. Currently, she’s a stay at home mom to her four year old boy. She loves the Detroit Red Wings hockey and enjoys cooking at home.
Kathleen is a former member of the OCC and Empower 330 non profit teams. They joined Spectrum Diversity Community Center's team and board in 2020 during a partial merger between the two organizations. They have proven a valuable source of perspective and marketing knowledge since joining the team.
